JERRY AND JUDY MANWWARING
After serving one term in Haiti working with the Theological Education by Extension program, Jerry and Jody Manwaring relocated to Zambia in 1997. Jerry served as business manager and acting mission director, and Jody managed the mission guesthouse.

Jerry has earned three degrees from the State University of New York: an A.A.S. in agriculture, a B.P.S. in criminal justice, and an M.S. in management. He is currently working on an M.A. in ministry at Indiana Wesleyan University.

In 1998 Jerry led a work team to Fortaleza, Brazil. The trip was only for 10 day, but according to Jerry, "it resulted in a change of direction and commitment in my life."

Jody said that as a result of her experience in Brazil, she also gained a new perspective on life and a new worldwide vision. "We want to live in such a way as to live out our life verse, 'shining like stars in the universe' as we 'hold out the word of life' whether in the United Stated or around the world."

The Manwarings are from the Central New York District. They have three grown children and one grandchild.

MIKE AND CINDY HELVIE
Since 1994 Mike and Cindy Helvie have ministered as Global Partners' career missionaries to South Africa where they served in church leadership development.  In 2005 they were reassigned to Albania where they will continue their missionary ministry.

Mike was born and raised in Logansport, Indiana.  He earned a B.S. degree in Christian Ministries from Indiana Wesleyan University.  Cindy (Mortier) was born in Seattle, Washington, and raised in Eugene, Oregon.  She earned a B.S. degree in nursing from Indiana Wesleyan University.  They both earned M.A. degrees in counseling from Western Evangelical Seminary.

At age 19 Mike sensed a call to missions, and Cindy felt her call to missions when she was 11.  Mike and Cindy met at college, and together they felt a call to missions.  They served in South Africa from 1992-1993 with the Wesleyan Gospel Corps.

Their vision for missionary service is to help people lead healthy lives and become whole so they may enable themselves, their families, and their churchs to experience and respond to God's Grace.

JIM AND KAREN PICKETT
In November 1999nJim and Karen Pickett were appointed to Mozambique as missionaries after serving there for one year as GO-Net volunteer missionaries.  Jim is involved in leadership development and teaching in the Bible school.

Shortly before Jim's twelfth birthday, his family went to Brazil where they served for 13 years.  In his first semester of college Jim surrendered to the call of missions that he started as a young child.  In 1986 Jim graduated from United Wesleyan College earning a B.S. in pastoral ministry, Christian Education, and missions.  He received an M.A. in Christian education and missions from Asbury Theological Seminary in 1998.

Karen (Kent) was born in Papua New Guinea to Wesleyan missionaries, Chuck and Linda Kent.  During an alter call at Pace '86 , she committed herself to go anywhere the Lord called her.  In 1991 she earned a B.S. in Spanish and secondary education from Houghton College.  Karen has been involved in teaching ministries.
